Tjentište - much more than a historical place

To the local public, the slightly older one, Tjentište is an association to the Battle of Sutjeska from the Second World War, which is marked by an impressive monument. For younger generations, Tjentište is best known as the place where the far-famed "OK Fest" is held every summer, bringing together artists from all countries in the region.
However, what is a special decoration of Tjentište is the pool, the largest outdoor pool in the Balkans. It was built in the early '70s of the XX century, all together with all other parts and facilities of the sports and recreation center. Just the area of the pool surface is over 16,000 square meters, encircled by a large promenade decorated by a lot of green areas, so it is never over crowded.
Since the depth of the pool is not of the same level everywhere, non-swimmers can also enjoy its clear water. Next to the pool flows the river Sutjeska, rich in brown trout, which is the best indicator of clean water that fills the pool and flows. All around there is a beautiful view of the high mountain peaks. You will especially enjoy the peace and tranquility that is disturbed only by the murmur of Sutjeska River.
If you want other types of recreation besides swimming, there are also sports fields in the nearby vicinity.
Whether you have decided to spend a couple of days in Foča and its surroundings or the road simply leads you somewhere else, we kindly recommend Tjentište with all its cultural, historical and sports-recreational facilities, being sure that you will not regret it…
